Nothing is as simple as it appears in Israel. Take this graffiti. This is the logo of Haifa Maccabi FC, a Jewish soccer team. However, it’s magic marked - in Hebrew - in the interior courtyard of a mosque in Rahat. Rahat is a Bedouin town in southern Israel which is 99.9% Muslim and which has its own local soccer team, Hapoel Beersheva FC.The graffiti is in Hebrew, not in Arabic, and is tagged up on a mosque by Muslims. These things are always more complicated than you expect them to be, huh?
